Dylan Larkin
When you’ve been shut out two nights in a row, the offense is obviously struggling. Dylan Larkin was very upfront about that. “We’re not hard enough to defend and we’re not generating enough chances,” Larkin says when asked about the struggles. Dylan commented on the dip of recent play, saying ” We didn’t play our game the past two games but that’s going to happen in a season like this”. Larkin also isn’t “panicking” but also says the entire room knows they need to be better. Dylan said it’s been “frustrating to not score and the team isn’t getting to the hard areas”. Over 130 minutes without a goal is long enough to break a team mentally. Larkin showed continued confidence in his group.
Jeff Blashill
After a tough night coach, Blashill shared his thoughts with the media. Blashill thought “there were moments where we would get a flurry of chances and moments where we would let ourselves down”. Coach Blash also gave props to the predators saying “they’re one of the best forechecking teams in the league”. Blashill was also very critical of the team saying “we were too slow-moving the puck up and too slow in the neutral zone and didn’t get pucks in behind them”. Ultimately coach Blashill thought the biggest difference in these last few games is “the power play hasn’t been good enough”. Finally, Blashill commented on the “defense not getting enough pucks through” for the Red Wings to score tonight.
