Red Wings and Stars Finish Four-Game Series Tonight in Detroit

The Detroit Red Wings were able to take the third game in the series in a convincing fashion. This came as a surprise as they were missing many of their key players. Jakub Vrana was expected to take center stage, but few could have predicted his four-goal performance. The 7-3 loss was the first loss in regulation for the Stars since April 6th. As a result, they currently sit four points behind the Nashville Predators, while also trailing them in win percentage. Below are the projected lineups for tonight’s game.

    Dallas Stars

The Stars record on the road this season is 7-9-4. Unfortunately for them, eight out of their last ten games are on the road. Subsequently, they need to find a way to improve and are looking to do so tonight against a depleted Red Wings squad. Getting star forward Tyler Seguin back will help, but his return isn’t expected until next week. Although the Stars are not expected to make any changes in the lineup tonight, forward Roope Hintz is again a game-time decision. Rising star Miro Heiskanen has this designation leading up to the game as well. Anton Khudobin is expected to start again in net tonight despite his ugly first period in Thursday night’s contest.

Jason Robertson – Roope Hintz – Joe Pavelski

Jason Dickinson – Jamie Benn – Denis Gurianov

Andrew Cogliano – Radek Faksa – Blake Comeau

Tanner Kero – Justin Dowling – Mark Pysyk

    Esa Lindell – John Klingberg

    Jamie Oleksiak – Miro Heiskanen

    Detroit Red Wings:

The Red Wings have accepted the challenge of having to play without their Captain Dylan Larkin. Detroit has played a team game to make up for missing Larkin along with forward Tyler Bertuzzi, Bobby Ryan, Robby Fabbri, and Frans Nielsen. Getting the puck to newcomer Jakub Vrana also proved successful. Although head coach Jeff Blashill has repeatedly mentioned that are plenty of players with bumps and bruises and are game-time decisions, there are not any expected changes to tonight’s lineup.  Mathias Brome is the likely recall option from the taxi squad if any forwards end up sitting out. Jonathan Bernier is expected to get the start in net tonight.

Jakub Vrana – Michael Rasmussen – Filip Zadina

Evgeny Svechnikov – Valtteri Filppula – Sam Gagner

    Richard Panik – Vladislav Namestnikov

Darren Helm – Luke Glendening – Adam Erne

    Denis Cholowski – Filip Hronek

    Marc Staal – Troy Stecher

    Danny DeKeyser – Gustav Lindstrom

    Alex Biega

    Jonathan Bernier
